A spacious historic home for gathering in central Marquette

Welcome to our home. Built in 1908, this classic American Four Square has been our family home for more than 28 years. It combines original architectural character and generous gathering spaces with a renovated kitchen, updated bathrooms, and the everyday comforts that make it easy to settle in.

The home extends across three levels, with stairs between each. The main floor includes comfortable living spaces, a dining room, the renovated kitchen, and a half bathroom. The upper floors hold the bedrooms and full bathrooms. On the finished walk-out lower level, guests will find an open sleeping area, television lounge, game system, private cedar sauna, kitchenette, and laundry.

One of the things guests love most is the variety of places to spend time together. After a day exploring Marquette, unwind in the sauna, gather around the backyard firepit, enjoy dinner on the back deck, or sip morning coffee on the covered front porch. The small backyard, garden patio, and basketball hoop add more ways to relax and play outside.

The neighborhood offers an ideal balance: close to the heart of Marquette, yet residential enough to feel relaxed. The house is half a block from the Third Street corridor, about five blocks from downtown, and within walking distance of Lake Superior beaches, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and local boutiques.

This is a home made for family and friends to gather, reconnect, and enjoy Marquette together, with plenty of room to spread out between adventures. Guests may also request access to the shared fitness room at Hewitt Onion Tower next door.

The main floor has a half bathroom only. Full bathrooms and bedrooms require stairs, and the lower-level sleeping area is open rather than a private bedroom.

The Tower Loft

Tucked into the top floor of Hewitt Onion Tower, The Tower Loft is a cozy private retreat filled with historic character. It is an inviting choice for a couple or solo traveler who wants to stay close to downtown while enjoying a space that feels distinctly Marquette.

The loft includes a queen bed for two, a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, television, a dining area, and a kitchenette for preparing simple meals. Its elevated third-floor setting gives the apartment a quiet, tucked-away feel above the activity of the neighborhood.

The apartment has its own private entrance at the rear of the restored Victorian triplex. Guests also share access to the fitness room, sauna, firepit, bike rack, parking area, guest bikes, and on-site EV charging.

The Tower Loft is half a block from Third Street restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and boutiques, and about five blocks from Lake Superior beaches and downtown Marquette. Northern Michigan University, UP Health System Marquette, Marquette Mountain, and the South Trails are all just minutes away.

The Garden Studio is a charming, cozy second-floor retreat at the rear of historic Hewitt Onion Tower. It is a comfortable home base for a couple, solo traveler, or business guest who wants a central Marquette location with character.

The studio includes a comfortable sleeping area, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette equipped for simple meals with a cooktop, microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and essential cookware. A sofa and television create a relaxed sitting area, and a small room just off the bathroom offers an additional quiet place to read or unwind.

The apartment has its own private entrance within the restored Victorian triplex. Shared amenities include the fitness room, sauna, firepit, bike rack, parking area, guest bikes, and on-site EV charging.

Step outside and you are half a block from Third Street restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and local favorites. Blackrocks Brewery is about two blocks away, Lake Superior beaches are roughly four blocks away, and Northern Michigan University, UP Health System Marquette, Marquette Mountain, and the South Trails are only minutes from the property.

Hewitt Onion Tower Manor

Historic Victorian in the heart of Marquette

Stay in one of Marquette's most distinctive historic homes. Built in 1898 and crowned by its unforgettable onion tower, this spacious three-story Victorian blends original character with the comforts groups and families need for an easy, memorable stay.

The main home offers generous room to gather and room to spread out, with two living rooms, two dining rooms, a large kitchen, multiple bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a game room, office space, laundry, Wi-Fi, and access to the fitness room and sauna. The layout works especially well for family gatherings, wedding weekends, reunions, and trips with friends.

The location makes it easy to experience Marquette without spending the day in the car. The home is just steps from the Third Street corridor, five blocks from Lake Superior and downtown, about half a mile from Northern Michigan University, and a short drive from Marquette Mountain and the South Trails.

Hewitt Onion Tower is a restored Victorian triplex. The Manor is the large main home, while The Garden Studio and The Tower Loft have separate private entrances at the rear of the property. The rentals can be booked individually or combined when availability allows, creating space for up to 14 guests across the property.

Outside, guests share access to the firepit, bike rack, parking area, and two on-site EV chargers. It is a one-of-a-kind home base for exploring Lake Superior, Marquette's restaurants and breweries, and the trails and natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
